All wireless microphone systems operate within a certain frequency range. Some of the less expensive models utilize just a single frequency, so if there is another piece of equipment near your theater using this same frequency, it will interrupt your signal. This causes everything from dropouts, to interference, to just plain bad sound. There is nothing that you can do about this with cheap wireless systems. The next level of wireless systems may allow you to select between 2 and 16 different fixed frequencies. More expensive units will be on the 16 channel side, less expensive on the 2 channel range. If you are only using one or two microphones, this is generally fine. In almost every situation, you can find two good channels to operate on in any building.
